Mummy and I

From the mind's eye again. This one was a little more difficult. I kept having to close my eyes, to try and see the Elephants in my head. Got frustrated after a short while, hard time seeing the Elephant in my mind's eye. I first started with the Mother. She proved very difficult to capture upon my initial attempt.

Took a break for a while, and came back to the drawing with fresh eyes. More importantly with a fresher (mind's eye) I was able to see much more clearly where I wanted to place my brush strokes. Especially when it came to the Elephant Calf. I could almost see it on the canvas, before drawing it. To my own surprise I did the calf quite quickly.

... after having looked at images of Elephants, it came to my attention that female Elephants tend to have smaller Tusks.

Done without reference

Well, I guess she's a Dancer

A new one, from the old noggin. Really trying to get my hand and my logistically observant mind to trust my inner Artist. Though the drawing may not seem like much. It means rather a lot to me that I can create such a thing, in this manner. (Imagination) Just going with the flow. Allowing mistakes to manifest, in order to get out of the way quicker... much quicker.

I've drawn a few decent things in the past. Though, the method I applied here in order to get this done, to me was rather profound. Why did I ever not trust myself this much, in the past. It wasn't easy doing this from mind, though I'm certain I'll get better with time. I'd like to be able to see what I want to draw, long before the Brush hits the Canvas.

Ultimately I'd love for my drawings to tell stories.

Drawing from Imagination

Drawing of a Lion, without reference. Having looked at an image of a Lion afterwards. I'd give myself erm... 6 out 10

Just a few doodles and digital painting, practicing.
Was working on some dynamic posing.

This is a 3D model of a Tron Legacy styled Pod Racer, I did a while back. Done using Maya & Blender.
Never drawn Baby faces, thought I'd give it a try
Working on some anatomy and posing.

Centaur fun, never drawn them before.

Basic anatomy stuff.
